Tours from Hoi An
There are many daily tours to the famous My Son Ruins which are about a half and hour drive out of Hoi An. These were Hindu temples that were built by the Cham people who inhabited the area between the 4th and 15th century. Many of the temples were bombed in the Vietnam war but some still stand looking over the surrounding jungle. Most of the big tour groups are in the early morning so take your time and you might get it all to yourself.
Just 10 min bicycle ride from the Ancient town lies a very unique Tra Que Vegetable Village. This large plot of land is home to many families that earn their living by toiling the fertile land. You will get to see and experience first hand what daily life is like for the locals working amongst the fields. If you are interested in learning more about Vietnams horticulture, a tour to the village is a must.
Hoi An Kayak
Hoi An has access to some amazingly beautiful areas by water, and being on the Thu Bon River system means there is plenty of this. Traveling the waterways by personal Kayak is the best way to view some of these striking scenes. Hoi An Kayak Centre offers Kayak rental if you would like to cruz the rivers alone, or guided tours for those who may need some help getting around. Either way this is sure to be a memorable experience.
Cham Island Dive
Cham Island is a small tropical Island just off the coast of Hoi An. The Island itself and the culture of the local fisherman living there offer a gimps back in time. Many tour groups head out to the island for everything from tours of the fish market to diving and snorkelling the beautiful blue waters. Day trips are the most popular but Home stays in the village and tents on the beach offer a special over night experience.
Tours from Da Nang
Travelling from Da Nang it all about location. With simple access to the airport, Da Nang is easy to get to, and close to a range of day and short trip destinations. Being in Da Nang presents an assortment of tour opportunities very different to those offered out of Hoi An.
Explore by bike the jungles and beaches of the Son Tra peninsula, take a historic trip back in time to Hue ancient city or taste something fishy at the beautiful Lang Co lagoon just one hour from Da Nang. Da Nang also offers access to parts of the Ho Chi Minh trail and is close to many minority groups and small villages. Maybe you have heard of the ancient hidden caves just off the Laos border? Whatever you’re after the Dana Easyrider company will get you there at a price that is very easy on the pocket.
